1. TRANSLATION WORKLOAD BRIEFING
The official appointment to start the Thangkhal O.T project was in the year of 2015 December. But due to the budget sessions and the Assembly Session for the next year conducted by the Thangkhal Baptist Churches we couldn’t started in the appointed time. But we start translating The Thangkhal Old Testament in 05/01/ 2016, under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Along Jamir.
At that time, we (I and Rev. Dr Along Jamir) decided to starts our translation work from the book of Psalms, and then Proverbs because it was a time that we long to have our Thangkhal N.T with Psalms and Proverbs.
Therefore, though it is not our main project to have N.T with Psalms and Proverbs it become our main target, and this took me till June 08 2018.
So, from January 05/2016 to June 08-2018, or Within the span of this two and half years, I have completed Psalms, Proverbs, and NT editing up to Philippians Chapter-1. This time BSI Shillong translation Centre had a slight change in their official duty, and I also got a new Adviser Elder R. Vanlaltlana.
On June 09 -14 in the year 2018, we had a meeting with our New Adviser, Elder R. Vanlaltlana, and since then we change our focus to the books of the Old Testament.
In June 18/2018, we start our translation work from the book of Genesis chapter one, and we completed the whole Old Testament in August 05/2022 (4 years 4 months).
Since then, we work together with the Bible Society of India, Translation Centre, Shillong, for committee checking/ proof reading and then finally Dummy Sign was done in December 27-29/ 2022.
